Ceramic printing for glass is a special method for creating extremely long lasting signage. The colours maintain their tones and brightness for a very long time (one of our older signs was installed 15 years ago and still looks new). The ceramic printing is weatherproof, resistant against acid and caustic solutions, and resistant against residues caused by heavy traffic.
The glass plates are printed in screen printing fashion using special ceramic colours. Afterwards the glassplates are heated up to a temperature of around 700°C (1292°F). The ceramic colours melt and bond permanently and homogeneously with the liquified glass surface. Once cooled, the colours are so much a part of the glass surface that even handling with "stronger" detergents and paint removers does not blemish the printing.
Ceramic colours are available in all RAL™ classic colours, special printing in real Gold and other metals is also available.
New in ceramic printing is our CMYK Printing service. Your digital photographs are rastered into the four basic colours and printed onto glass. That means, ceramic printing is now also available for the reproduction of digital photographs and illustrations.
Ceramic printing is excellently suited for use in long term signage. Specially signage that is exposed to extreme weather or enviromental conditions should be realised using ceramic printing, for example, in signage in forests and natural parks, on highly frequented roads, locations with a high rate of graffiti or billboarding practices or locations suffering from damage due to the acidic content of bird droppings.
